The KÖ-KLINIK supports Interplast Germany
Interplast-Germany e.V. is a non-profit society that completes free plastic surgery operations in developing countries.
Without the intervention of Interplast the patients would not be able to affort an operation and also, there is often not enough qualified specialist staff in the respective countries. The patients to be treated suffer from malformations, severe burns, tumours and other illnesses which are located in the field of plastic surgery.
The KÖ-KLINIK, which is known as a private clinic for aesthetic-plastic surgery, does not only financially support the commitment of Interplast-Germany. The possibilities of plastic surgery are very versatile and range from cosmetic procedures to the treatment of victims of war and accidents. Dr. Manassa, medical specialist for plastic surgery in the KÖ-KLINIK, employs his know how for a good cause also in his free time. Together with an operation team, he operates in Namibia and other countries to help patients in need to a better life.
The aim is to keep the patients from the life-endangering consequences of injuries and desease and to integrate them into society. Since innate malformations or deseases are often perceived as a punishment for misbehaviour by divine powers, the persons concerned are therefore expelled from their social environment. The doctors as well as nurses at the location are integrated in the work and trained as far as possible. In the ideal case, the hosting colleagues will be able to continue the work independently at the location.
The work of Interplast-Germany e.V. is based on the members’ voluntary committment without payment. The accuring costs are financed by donations as well the members’ annual fees.
